THINKING ABOUT TARLAC?

Tarlac is approximately 2.5 - 3 hours away from Metro Manila by car or bus. Using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the recently built Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Highway (TPLEX), getting here has been more convenient. Public transportation such as provincial buses and motorized sidecars/ tricycles are widely available especially from main town transportation hubs.
The main currency used in Tarlac (and in all parts of the Philippines) is Philippine Peso. US Dollars are sometimes accepted by establishments but highly dependent on its owners. To be sure, have your foreign currency changed at established FOREX centers. ATMs are only available at the main town, and most local establishments only accept cash.
